Tailoring

Tailoring is a classic craft, applied to garment construction and made to measure garments.

I was to work for Aquascutum, a company with a long established English heritage. I had to produce a soft tailored jacket ready for Spring/Summer 2012, considering the companies’ historical and current signature and also their clientèle. 

My designs had to adhere to classic tailored jackets and finish, such as two piece sleeve, collar, lapel, pocket detailing, jets, welts, cuffs and hem vents.

Textiles Screen Printing

To develop a collection of printed t-shirts for a market of choice. The collection will be based on S/S 11 trends and colour direction.

As green/eco issues increasingly dominate in the desingers’ consciousness, consider reusing and recycling existing t-shirts to create an original range of customised tees.

The emphasis throughout this project is the connection between image generation and transition through print, through a journey of drawing, mark making and print development.

Customer Profile

Our customer is an 18-25 female, she is fashion conscious, stylish, and unique. She will have a reasonable disposable income and most likely not be living at home. She likes to dress sophisticatedly as well as feeling she has value for money. She is mature and likes to express her individuality by keeping up with trends but having a unique twist. She is independent and feels her fashion has to reflect her personality. Other cultures such as music, media and celebrities are a big influence in her fashion and social life and she enjoys keeping up her fashionable appearance.
